More Than a Safari – An Experience That Changed Me My experience with New Horizon Africa Safari and my guide, Nshuti, was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived in Rwanda until my return to Kigali, everything was seamless, professional and thoughtfully organised. Nshuti was punctual, knowledgeable, friendly and genuinely passionate about sharing his country with visitors. What stood out most was his pride in Rwanda. Through our conversations, hikes and drives together, I gained a much deeper appreciation for a country that has undergone an extraordinary journey of resilience, renewal and growth. Rwanda is immaculately clean, vibrant, safe and full of hardworking people determined to build a bright future. Highlights included hiking to the spectacular Twin Lakes viewpoint, visiting the Ellen DeGeneres Campus, and of course the unforgettable gorilla treks. Standing just metres away from a silverback mountain gorilla was one of the most profound wildlife experiences of my life. It is difficult to put into words the feeling of being accepted into their world, even for a brief moment. Nshuti's professionalism, warmth and attention to detail made these experiences even more meaningful. He was always happy to answer questions, adapt plans where needed and ensure I was comfortable throughout the journey. If you are considering visiting Rwanda, I cannot recommend New Horizon Africa Safari highly enough. They delivered far more than a tour – they provided an authentic and deeply memorable experience that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. Trusty, professional and friendly company! We’ve decided to rent a car with driver and it was the best decision ever for our holidays in Rwanda. What an unforgettable experience! I recently went on a gorilla and golden monkey trekking trip in Rwanda and Uganda with New Horizon, and it was an unforgettable experience. Everything was very well organised from start to finish, with great communication and smooth logistics throughout. My guides, Nshuti and Emmanuel, were fantastic, caring, knowledgeable, and always making sure we were comfortable and looked after. Seeing the gorillas and the golden monkeys up close was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Wonderful experience. Thank you Yuhi I took a 8 day trip. Yuhi was my driver/guide. From beginning, they were very organized and offered multiple itineraries which fitted my budget and interests. And they did a great job. Yuhi was courteous, safe driver, and informative. I felt comfortable. He did a great job finding the animals for me at akagea National Park, and his effort was A+. Wonderful Rwanda New Horizon Africa Safaris stands out as a sincere and reliable travel company in Rwanda. As a solo, female traveler, I thoroughly enjoyed my 9 day trip. Seeing gorillas up close is certainly amazing and I am impressed with the extent that Rwandans- guides, trackers and porters work towards conservation. The support from tourists goes a long way in sustaining the community effort. I appreciate interacting with the locals and learning about their way of life. Some highlights include living in a traditional hut, watching a lively drum and dance performance by youths, plucking tea leaves with villagers and hiking to see twin lakes. Nshuti who communicated with me via email before my arrival and Theoneste who picked me up at the airport were friendly and attentive. I paid by international bank transfer in advance and the process went smoothly. The contract is transparent in stating what is included and excluded. Emmanuel who drove me around throughout the tour is a safe driver during "Africa massage" of rocky paths and passionate in letting visitors explore "new horizons" and see Rwanda beyond the history of genocide. He is knowledgable and thoughtful, sharing interesting insights along the way and adjusting activities when we get caught in the rain. A fantastic 2 week trip in Rwanda and Uganda We did a 2 week tour with New Horizon around Rwanda (and a few days in Uganda to see the Gorillas). Right from the start Nshuti was helpful in fine tuning our itinerary and make sure we got in all of our highlights, at a cost that was reasonable for us. We packed on a lot and drove round a huge part of the country. From pick up on the first day it was all excellent - Yuhi was our Guide and he was so helpful, kind and taught us so much about Rwandan culture. Precisely as we wanted it to be! We did a five day trip with New Horizon to Volcanos National Parc and Nyungwe National Parc and had an amazing time. The tour was coordinated by Emmanuel und Nshuti. We already approached New Horizon with a pretty concrete list of activities we wanted to do and after they did a sanity check they realised it precisely as we wished it to be. We hiked Muhambura in Volcanos, did Chimpanzee Trekking, two hikes in Nyungwe and a boat trip on Lake Kivu. All activities were coordinated well for us and we really enjoyed all of them. Only on the boat ride we felt a bit uncomfortable with the external guide (not from New Horizon). Our driver guide Theo took care of us really well and was super friendly. He happily shared some information on the areas we drove through, but he also let us rest and chill in the car without always talking. We felt really comfortable with him.
